The Music and Congress Centre of Lübeck – popularly known as MuK - is a central meeting place and striking architectural setting located right next to the historic old town. Fans of art, music and theatre as well as experts from academia, business and research gather here.
Designed by internationally renowned architect Meinhard von Gerkan, the building features a congress centre and concert hall and is ideal for exhibitions. The MuK is highly appreciated and greatly valued by the citizens of Lübeck. With a space of 4.000 m2, the MuK offers a choice of more than 15 seminar rooms providing space for up to 3.500 people. Situated directly at the river Trave, facing the Old City over the past 20 years the MuK has become a versatile, modern and internationally known venue. Open to the world and future-oriented, the MuK has established itself as a leading event venue run by a highly qualified and motivated team.
Both artists and visitors value its excellent acoustics. International stars such as David Garrett, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Martin Grubinger, Christoph Eschenbach, and Lang Lang, pop stars such as Herbert Grönemeyer, Silbermond, and Tim Bendzko as well as celebrated comedy and show stars regularly perform at the MuK. The MuK offers prestigious concerts in cooperation with the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra and the NDR Philharmonic Orchestra, and is the main venue for the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
The MuK event calendar includes high level congresses and international symposiums often organized in cooperation with Lübeck’s scientific institutions.
